Strawberry Season in Florida is HERE!

Do you love fresh strawberries as much as I do? Every February I hound my farmer friends at Frog Song Organics to see when the first harvest of their organic berries will be ready. This year, I got a very special sneak peak and was the first one to harvest their rows of new arrivals.

Visiting the farm is always a special experience and getting to walk the fields and connect with Mother Nature brings a sense of calm and wholeness. Strawberry fields are extra special because they are filled with the sweet smell of the fresh sweet berries.

The strawberries grown at Frog Song are extra special because of the extra effort the farm makes to keep these berries organic and free from toxins. Regenerative agriculture is their first step in creating a nutrient rich berry. This means they compost to enrich the soil, they rotate their crops to regenerate the soil and of course as an organic grower they don’t use any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. In addition, Frog Song uses straw to cover their berries whereas other organic farms may use plastic containers. This extra step is what allows Frog Song to stand apart and be the example of how we should grow!

I’m so proud of what this farm is accomplishing and glad to be a part of their success. You can be a part of this important mission to regenerate our health by indulging in a bottle of strawberry infused vinegar this season! Help yourself, your community and your Mother Earth with every spoonful of your handcrafted small batch infusion.

Try your strawberry tonic in bubbly water or tea for a bright and healthy drink. Dress your arugula, spring mix and leafy green salads or create a slaw that pops with flavor. Strawberry season in Florida only lasts a few more weeks, but you can hold on to the flavor of the season with your infusion!
